These innovative technologies are seamlessly integrated into the SD312 to complement the capabilities of the latest generation Intel® Xeon® processor and chipset. The rack optimised 2U chassis allows multiple servers to be installed in the data centre.
12 Hot-Swap 3.5" Drive bays support a mix of SATA or SAS drives connect via the expander backplane to the chosen RAID card. In addition to the 12 bay main storage array, the SD312 supports 2 x 2.5" SSD/HDD SATA drives intended to carry the OS, allowing full utilisation of the storage array. A slim DVDRW completes the drive array, this mounted on the rear of the chassis.
The Intel® Xeon® processor 5600 series automatically regulates power consumption and intelligently adjusts server performance according to application demand, maximizing both energy cost savings and performance. Based on new 32nm Intel® microarchitecture, the 5600 series reduces energy cost over single-core servers by automatically shifting the CPU and memory into the lowest available power state, while intelligently adjusting performance to application needs. The series includes both 4 core and six core models offering a wide range of performance and allowing processors to be matched to budget.
Intel® Active Airflow Control Operates chassis fans at the minimum speed required to cool the system, resulting in lower power consumption and acoustic noise.
